She holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Saginaw Valley State University and a master's degree in school and community counseling from Oakland University. Kimberly is also an active participant in her church community and serves on the board for the church's preschool. Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys camping with her family, being outdoors, and rooting for her hometown football team, the Detroit Lions. A "Must Have" Resource for ALL Elementary Teachers & Counselors!

If "Don't Call Me a Tattletale" had been available when I was teaching in the classroom, I know I would have used it every year as a key resource in supporting my students interpersonal, problem solving skills. This book explains the difference between 'tattling' and 'reporting' in such a clear and direct way that regardless of students' age or grade, this would be an appropriate resource for everyone to use.

The perfect ice breaker to talk to your kids about bullying

As a mother of young children, I am grateful that there is a book about bullying geared towards younger elementary school aged children since that is the time of life when most kids first encounter the subject. Written in "kid" language with realistic, age-appropriate conflict, this book provided me with a teaching tool to discuss multiple perspectives on the topic - the aggressor's, the victim's, and the bystander's.

I also loved how the resolution to the conflict of the story was so easily grasped by my kids. The theme of the book at its core is "The Golden Rule", why it's important for us to treat others the way we want to be treated. Empathy is an emotion that many children need to be guided through to understand, and I enjoyed how well this story lent itself to that teachable moment.

Apart from the story itself, I found the illustrations captivating. Even before we read the words in the book, my children were identifying the emotion of the story by the expressions on the faces of the characters. I can say without reservation that the artist captured the true essence of how each character in the story would have felt in her depictions - the art is absolutely beautiful.

This book is an ideal teaching tool for any parent, educator, or counselor, and I would highly recommend it.

Helpful with elementary daughter

This is a wonderful children's book with great illustrations. My daughter was being harassed at school and this book helped me guide her through how she could best handle the situation without feeling like she was tattling. My little one can also enjoy the story because of the beautiful illustrations.

A Modern-Day Successor to H.G. Wells

The late Colin Kapp was a British writer of Science Fiction who was somewhat underappreciated by readers on this side of the Atlantic. Chief among his stories were those about the Unorthodox Engineers, a gang of misfits who practiced engineering in a manner that purists in the Engineering Reserve tended to resent, especially since this outlaw-like approach to the profession often led to outstanding results. All five of Kapp's stories about UE are in this work, along with three additional stories that are about more conventional sci-fi themes. Overall an excellent read, and some of the best work Kapp ever did. He had several more well-known novels which were all quite readable, and if another volume of Kapp works come out, I hope the stories include "Hunger Over Sweet Waters", "Lambda One", and "The Imagination Trap". Kapp used very pioneering ideas based on real science in his work, and it told well with very good integration into his stories. A

I bought this for just one story that I haven't been able to find since the 70's - "The Cloudbuilders". The rest of the book was a real treat. I will look up his other books.

Now this is the Michael Connelly we all adore!

Suicide run, the other three Harry Bosch short stories book released last month was a disappointment for most fans, myself included.

This book, on the other hand, is a great and exciting reading! Here you can see our old friend, Harry Bosch in his glory. The stories are good, with great plots, well written mysteries, and have a profoundness that is touching.
The first story shows us a little more about Bosch's war years - I'm never tired of hearing about them. Plus, it explains something I was curious about, but I'll not say more to avoid spoilers...

The second story is deep and sad. It makes one wonder about parenthood and its difficulties. We have Ignacio there, and I missed him...

The last story names the book and it starts at the very beginning of Bosch's career. He always talks about his first murder investigation now we can read it. It's great to be there with him, and to see him, years later, trying to bring justice to the case. Typical Bosch - never letting go.

*EDIT - technically, it's not his first investigation, it's his first dead body as a cop, when he was still a rookie but you'll see it's almost the same for him...-*

Those who canceled the pre-order for this book because of Suicide Run, please, think again. I believe this is a must read for all Harry Bosch's friends!

Great short story collection.

If i had any complains about this collection, it would be that it's too short!
You can read this 3 excellent stories in about 45 min, 1 hour.
It is a delight to see how the Harry Bosch character goes about solving a case.
One good thing about this format is that if you are on the fence about Michael Connelly or the Harry Bosch series, this is a good entry point, since they are basically condensed novels, stripped to the bone, lean and mean.
These short stories embody what i love about Harry Bosch as a character and Michael Connelly as the greatest crime writer of his time.

Short, Made for TV, Stories???

I do not write a lot of reviews but feel I have to write a review after seeing the string of 5 Star reviews these stories received. I am sure Mr. Connelly writes wonderful intricate plotted books. But these 3 stories are just too simplistic. Anyone who has watched a Castle, Closer, or Mentalist episode will guess the outcome a quarter of the way into the story. The stories are fine but hardly worth purchasing. The preview of "The Drop" (Connelly's newest, now released title) was quite good. My recommendation... skip the 3 short stories and put your $2.99 toward THE DROP instead.

About the Author
Camron Wright holds a masters degree in writing and public relations. He says he began writing to get out of attending MBA school, and it proved the better decision. His first book, Letters for Emily, was a Readers Choice award winner, as well as a selection of the Doubleday Book Club and the Literary Guild. In addition to North America, Letters for Emily was published in several foreign countries. Camron lives with his wife, Alicyn, in Utah. They are the parents of four children.

An Uplifting Change of Scenery....

It took me a while after purchasing this book to actually read it because I mostly like to read positive and fun books, with a few downers thrown in between. I never write reviews, but I must comment on this one. It really made me see my own life differently. I was able to take a step back and appreciate all that I have without the cloud of guilt or darkness of some people's reality hanging overhead. It takes talent to write in a way that helps us see that even small and seemingly insignificant acts of kindness and generosity can mean a world of difference to someone else. I loved that I was still thinking about this book weeks after I finished it, and felt compelled to mention it to everyone I spoke with! There is a tiny bit of content that makes me hesitate in having my young teens read it, but I feel they have much to gain from it and will be sure to have them read it soon (the fact that I hesitate makes it all the more inviting to them, and they are begging me to borrow it). There is definitely something valuable, worth while, life changing, and even beautiful, in the time spent with Sang Ly in this book that takes us to a dump in Cambodia.

It was one of the most well written and beautiful books I have read in the last few years. I am always looking for great, not good, books to read, and I was not disappointed in this book. The author is amazingly brilliant with the written word and the ability to share this story. LOVED IT!!!!!!!! We are using it as part of our book club.

I will never forget this book! Cameron Wright is a fantastic story-teller. Not only is his research thorough, he also weaves a story of hope and redemption out of poverty and desperation that touches the heart in a memorable and unforgettable fashion. This novel is a perfect selection for a Book Club. How does the gift of literacy affect and transform a life...a family? This book has won several awards as Best Book of the Year in 2012. As you read the last page and close the book, you realize that the radiance of the virtues of hope. love, and compassion can never be totally diminished. This book has a special place in my heart forever ! Thank you, Cameron Wright.

Excelllent textbook!

Like the title says, it's an 'Illustrated' guide so the book uses lots of pictures to communicate their points, making the material very easy to understand and quick to digest. The graphics are extremely well done. If your task is to learn the NEC code, this is the book to get.

The book I bought was the paperbound textbook size book. Although I am not an electrician, I have worked on many small projects and consider myself well informed. I had some training with an electrian ex-relativeI. I have read numerous thick pamphlet style electical literature and electrical books and have found these style books to be very informative. Mike Holt's book is good because it fills in knowledge gaps that are bound to occur. It is much easier to absorb than the national electric code because it gives hands on examples of how to physically do tasks. I just wished I would have bought a hard cover book as this book is a keeper.
