Gives You the Answer

Well, I can review this book by providing some descriptions as I did with Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE) Foundation Learning Guide: Foundation learning for the ROUTE 642-902 Exam (Self-Study Guide) and Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH) Foundation Learning Guide: Foundation learning for SWITCH 642-813 (Self-Study Guide). If you interested, this book covers each topic with lots of details and, more importantly, many examples; provides number of commands and describe, how and when to use each one. And yes, significant lines are highlighted in commands outputs.
But I want to write something else.
"How to troubleshoot the network" is the Question that has no simple answer and maybe has no universal formula-like answer at all. (If you think otherwise, you should read this book.) Troubleshooting is not a science; it is a form of art. Of course, every protocol has define logic, every device (even malfunctioning) executes some algorithm, and even users activities can be described with good approximation. But, when you deal with big network, the scale, the number of factors, of interconnections, of hidden flows is so large, that it cannot be observed by human mind (with exception of several genius). So you when you find the solution, it is often a result of a feeling, not conclusion. And that is why I think that troubleshooting is an art.
So, how about this book? Does it teaches you this art, or it is a worthless piece of paper? Don't worry. This book will not simply teach you the art. It will make You the Artist. I am so sure about this, because after reading this book I have a feeling, that I know the Answer to unanswerable question. I know "How".
If you think that event-driven troubleshooting is nice and documentation is for all-forgetting-dummies, then you should read this book. If you already know what troubleshooting is, you should read this book too. It worth every cent, and I rate this item as 5-star just because of lack of better mark.

Detailed but not comprehensive

There is a lot of information in Cisco Press textbooks. However, I wouldn't rely solely on this book to pass the certification exams. There are also a few typos here and there, but that is to be expected since humans make mistakes.

I have read this book from cover to cover, every word, sentence, paragraph, section, and chapter.
This book is untrustworthy because, like the ROUTE book and the SWITCH book, it has far too many technical errors and grammatical errors.
Anyone who gives this book more than 1 star hasn't read it and doesn't care about their reputation.
I hope that Cisco doesn't write their IOSs, NX-OS, etc. like this.
For example; Chapter 8, page 271, Example 8-16: The syntax for the ACL is all wrong.
"...permit tcp host 209.165.201.5 eq bgp host 209.165.201.6".
This is trash!
